Hot Springs

Yunogo Onsen

2015-09-20

Have you heard of Yunogo Onsen in Okayama? It is a famous site for hot spring, along with Okutsu and Yubara onsen. These three are known as the “Three Hot Springs of Mimasaka.” I paid a visit with my friend during the consecutive holidays last week.

Yunogo Onsen is located in Mimasaka City, Okayama Prefecture. You can enjoy variety of baths in each facility. My favorite is the rotenburo, an outdoor open-air bath. Rotenburo is extremely liberating, because you can also enjoy beautiful scenery while soaking in the bath. In the spring time you can see the lush green mountains, in autumn, a colorful foliage, and in winter, a serene snow scape. At night you can see a sky full of stars, which makes you want to bathe multiple times a day. Also, the spring water contains plenty of Sodium Ion which makes the skin very healthy and silky.

In addition, there are facilities that lend out private family-size baths. Such service is provided with big groups in mind, such as families and friends.

Please pay a visit when you get a chance. Though it may be a little out of the way, you will not regret going to Yunogo onsen!
