Aki Matsuri (or Fall Festival) are common in throughout Japan.
Both small and big town neighborhoods come together to celebrate the coming of Fall.
In the rural town of Osafune (in Setouchi city) there is a tradition using a giant wooden float, called a Danjiri.
Everyone from town gathers near the Danjiri and catch hard mochi that is thrown from the top of the structure.
They then sit inside the Danjiri and are pulled throughout the town by the adults of the neighborhood.
Dozens of people get involved and enjoy the somewhat dangerous but fun pulling of the Danjiri.
